The new high-capacity press, installed in a brand new stamping building, begins to stamp its first parts. this is the first major equipment of Sochaux 2022.
It is undoubtedly the most efficient stamping equipment in Europe, installed in a new building 16 meters high and 6000 square meters on the ground. A very high capacity press, with a potential of 72,000 blows per week, on 4 shifts. This is four times more than the old press launched in 1993. And among its innovations, the possibility of working on both sides of the press. This saves a lot of time in setting up tools.
Today, the Sochaux site employs 10,000 people, including 7,600 permanent employees, for 2,100 vehicles produced every day, 500,000 in 2018. This new press will completely replace the old press by spring 2020.
